Day 7: How to Feel Good --

What do you instantly see?

Did you see a woman's face?

Now see a saxophone player.

Do 3 reps:

1) See the woman, then the sax player

2) the woman, the sax player

3) the woman, the sax player.

Scroll back up and do it!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Next, Do This...

Scroll down and pick either the sax player or the woman -- whichever one you want, and hold it for a count of 3.

Add sound: if you choose the sax player, hear the sax.

If you choose the woman, hear her say Hi (your name).

Day 7's tool for How to Feel Good is Focus on What You Want.

There are two pretty clear ways to see that image: as a woman's face or a saxaphone player.

Once we see them both, our minds can alternate between them.

And, with some effort, we can choose one and hold it.

I call it "perceptual athleticism:"  Having our minds be able take and hold a perspective we want it to with the strength, flexibility and endurance of a well-trained athlete.

For example, name one thing in your life you could be grateful for.

Hold it for a count of 3 :-).

We feel what we focus on.  We get more of what we focus on.

So our mission today, should we choose to accept it, is to let go of distractions and negativity by focusing on what we want.

What do you want?  How do you want to feel?

Keep bringing your focus back to that.

That's Playing Big,

Dr. Tom
